Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one of the construction industry's latest advances for improving the various parts of the project management process across the construction project life cycle. Despite its many benefits for improving construction project management, BIM has very broad aspects and dimensions. This breadth makes the use of this progressive technology in construction projects complex, and has meant that its implementation in many construction projects in Alberta and Western Canada has not delivered the results project managers expected. Familiarizing the managers and specialists active in construction projects with the managerial, technical, and software dimensions of BIM can increase the chances of successful BIM implementation in these projects and lead to ever-better construction project management.
This training course has been designed specifically for construction project managers and specialists interested in implementing BIM across the various parts of the construction project management process. Most BIM training courses offered in the market have focused on teaching BIM software. This course aims to fill the gap in teaching the managerial and technical dimensions while also familiarizing participants with leading BIM software (including Revit and Navisworks). Developed with instructors who are experts across the different dimensions of BIM, it covers the managerial, technical, and software aspects of using BIM in construction projects. The course focuses on the managerial-practical dimensions of building information modeling and on how BIM is used in the project management process.
